As Auroa finishes eating the elf turns to Kal and says "Yes i suppose he will but it is merely his way. You can no more fault a wolf for hunting then you can a politician for lying. I merely hope when it is my turn that I will indulge in that instinct as little as possible" Auroa's eye's dance at the mention of the boat ride.
Turning to Lysan "Yes, but were are all there is and as such we stand a better chance then the others that don't exist. While we will certainly be a surprise we are going there to be beacons in the darkness. As shinning examples of elven kind, therefore being seen and known will help our task more then if we blended in. Do you not think so?"
With that Auroa finishes the meal and sits sipping the mixture while looking at the dragon on Ilyrana's shoulder and thinks "My what an interesting pet."

Nikxor looks around at the proceedings and chatter, looking disinterested for the most part as he partakes of his fair share of the meal. To the drow's wish of luck, he snorts a small sound, understanding what he might be in for.
Ilyrana seems used to having him perched on her shoulder and goes on eating, pausing mid bite of a date as Kal'esril divulges where they are headed and how. Neither sounded like a place she would have set foot in or on in normal circumstances.
But this wasn't a normal circumstance. At Lysan's questions, she arches a brow and waits for Auroa to finish speaking. She did have a point, and Ilyrana nodded. "Agreed. Besides, envoys cause a stir, pointless without notice. We will draw it."
She did her best to look as if she wasn't feeling trapped under a small glass. A ship? Humans? Suddenly the blackberry juice tasted bitter as it went down, and she set the glass aside. "Lysan has a good point. Why there?" She eyed the drow, serious, curiosity coloring her features. It seemed a rather odd place to begin, though the journey had to begin. Just the idea of being on ground that moved and away from trees was concerning her to no end. The psuedodragon decided at that moment to remove himself from her and settle himself in the next seat over. Ilyrana set his plate within his reach absently.
Are you really afraid of the boat? Come on, you're made of stronger stuff than that. Just water. Ilyrana narrowed her eyes slightly, but said nothing.
<(ST)> The Pseudodragon contents himself with picking through the plate for a long moment before suddenly projecting his thoughts into Ilyrana's mind again. I don't suppose you want my insights on these... fellow elves of yours. What am I saying, of course you do. He easily manages to project his self-satisfaction into the stream of information. The dark one is playing a game with you all. The information he provides is patently true, so far as I can tell, but he is toying with the information to reveal only what he wants you to know so that you will interpret it in the way he... wishes I think. There is no need, but I sense this isn't his true self. The female is very much as she appears I think, an innocent. However, she is wearing an illusion. I can smell it.
The creature continues to investigate its food, picking up a pear half and nipping a chunk out happily. The large winged one is quite the sight isn't he? It's.... bemusing. But I sense arcane ability behind all that soldiering, I'm just not certain what manner. Not a skald certainly.

"Agreed Lysan. I believe we will get along fine in terms of political style, especially where the other races are concerned as I see little reason to cater to their sense of importance either." Kal misinterpreted the reasoning behind Lysan's belief in plain speech but, regardless, agreed with the method. "As for why a human city.... I can't possibly imagine why we are to care but a couple of the so called merchant houses of the city have lost their favored children. The matter has been going on for a while and tensions are starting to mount. One of the houses has asked for a neutral party to investigate the matter and see if they can retrieve the lost scions... and in the true nature of humans the house in question offers payment for their lost child alone."
"As for how others will receive us. So far as I know the humans have no preconceived notions about your three subraces, or even know you exist at all. Ilyrana, you are likely to be mistaken for a Wood Elf more often than not, it wouldn't be unlikely for a human to mistake Auroa for a Moon Elf unless they have spend any real time in a Silver community." He looks to Lysan again. "They won't be mistaking you for anything.... except maybe a Raptorian as we get further North, but even then only at a distance. You will be the first to get looks, even when I stand beside you my very large companion. However, I don't think you will have much trouble for the attention." He doesn't mention himself, nor the obvious reactions that will follow a Drow. They had worried after themselves and he had responded to those worries.
Kal turns his focus to Auroa. "I cannot fault a wolf because the wolf serves a purpose." He watches as Auroa addresses Lysan directly, quietly speaking an aside after the comment of beacons in the darkness. "I prefer to blend into the darkness... could be a racial thing." He smile makes it clear he is presenting the fact in the form of jest.
Kal cuts his eyes to Ilyrana when she eyed him with curiosity. Though his expression doesn't alter in the slightest his darting eyes indicate that he is investigating her with the same degree of interest, whatever that degree might be. Those crimson eyes are narrowed ever so slightly by blacker than black eyelids when the small draconic creature shifts away from the elf. He keeps an eye on them as the situation continues to unfold, seeming to sense the interaction between the two even as it is impossible for him to overhear it. "Are there any more questions? If there are I will be happy to answer them, individually or with you all here. If not, I will lead you to the top most level from which you can access your housing to refresh and relax until it comes time for a small ceremony, after which we will be departing immediately. The matter at hand is no doubt time sensitive."

Lysan looks toward Auroa, " As Ilyrana says, envoys should draw attention. However, I am merely being cautious, as I have been greeted more with Shouts and Sword-waving than words of welcome. Humans fear, and therefore hate, what they do not know or understand. Do not take my words as fear, for I will carry my duties as well as the rest of you. Merely take them as a word of caution to ameliorate my own excitement.
" I do look forward to whatever we may see and experience on our journeys, that is simple truth." Lysan drains the last of his wine from his glass. " And, I believe Kal has a point. Today has had plenty of excitement already. Perhaps we should retire to absorb what has transpired today, and rest and prepare for the morrow."
Lysan stands, and from his posture some might notice that he is almost anxious to leave the enclosing room, but he sounds perfectly calm as he addresses Kal again, "I would be happy to see our quarters, if you would show us the way?"

The mythril elf just nods at Ilyrana's words.
Then Auroa giggles plesently at Kal's jest "well I am sure you are good at it, and that can be a useful skill to have"
To Lysan's retort "I never thought you were afraid, but I agree there is nothing wrong in caution. Though I think we will be treated well by the humans. It is good to know you are keeping an eye out in case we are not."
Sighing "while I would enjoy chatting longer it would be nice to know all is ready for Cad'miun and our journey. I also desire to see more of the splendid rooms within this marvel of eleven design."

"Missing children? So we are to be recuers then. Nuetral indeed." It wasn't really her forte, but, neither was any of this. Molds were breaking everywhere suddenly.
Wood Elf.......Ilyrana does her best to mask her indignation at what she'd be mistaken for. Not because Wood Elves were inferior to her own race, but for the fact that humans were so desperate to understand and label something that they would give something or someone a label just to do so, even if it was the wrong one. After a moment for the thought to pass, Ilyrana simply gives one sharp nod in understanding. It was another reason why humans would never be her favorite race by far.
When Lysan speaks of caution, she nods to him. "It is better to be prepared than ignorant. Caution is healthy." It is then that Nikxor pipes up, causing Illyrana to miss the chance to comment on the further interactions for the moment. She had not yet mastered the ability to focus on telepathic and normal conversations flawlessly, so she looked for a moment merely thoughtful. Nikxor often interjected in this way, and she knew better than to complain about it, since usually a second mind and set of eyes worked to her advantage. Kal'esril's gaze doesn't bother her, after all, she'd been mirroring it. What her familiar had to tell her didn't surprise her much in regards to the drow. She'd had a feeling he wouldn't be revealing all details, and the fact he was playing some sort of game only confirmed the sterotype as she'd heard it. His appraisal of the other two was far more interesting, as it seemed she had missed those things before. Illusion? What sort could it be? Auroa didn't seem the type to have something hidden, as her personality seemed very open. Most curious. Lysan, with arcane abilities? Also interesting. It proved there was more to these than the surface revealed. She found herself glancing briefly at all three of the elves now in turn. I had that feeling about the drow already, but the others? That's interesting. I suppose in time I will find out more about them all. This could have been worse, so far it's remotely tolerable. Not afraid of a boat by the way, or the water, just them both together with lack of trees will be....disconcerting.
She blinked and the drow was offering now to lead them to their temporary quarters to relax and prepare for things to come. She didn't have any more questions that she wanted to ask directly, so she stood up too and grabbed her staff up, waiting for Nikxor to take his last bites and reclaim his place on her shoulder. It's good you have me, missing things such as that might indeed cost you greatly. If I kept count of these things, I could tell you how many times my knowledge has saved you, little one.
At Auroa's words she made a faint attempt to smile. "I'm sure we'll have chance to chat as time goes."
The boat ride would potentially take days as it was. With a sigh, she stretched slightly and smoothed out the edge of her wrapped skirt as she stood and waited for Kal'esril to lead the way up to the top levels of this place.

"Humans are easy to deal with, despite their apparent dominance of this age." Kal drains his glass and sets it aside before continuing. "Regardless of their behavior we will show strength, meeting force with equal force. It's all they understand, all they will accept. In matters political we merely out think them or wait three decades and negotiate with their replacements. Bribery sees great success among them as well." His voice is off handed, dismissive of the species in question. He stands slowly, careful to keep his thigh sheathed blades from catching on the arms of the chair. "I would be happy to show you the way. Though the priestess has reminded me of something. We have many facilities that are significantly above average for their purposes here, if any of you would like to utilize them merely come back to the central structure and do so. Any guard will be able to direct or guide you. If not, tell me and I will kill the offender." He steps away from the table and moves again, his steps where utterly silent as he made his way toward the door. "Follow me. I have recommendations." He leads them around the hallway again, returning to the stairs and following them upward once again. He leads them up and outside again. toweroflife.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=outside&thread=3&page=1
